Paul Lambert: No regrets about Wolves team selection
Paul Lambert has pledged to make changes to his XI against Huddersfield tomorrow after Saturday's dire stalemate against Blackburn.
The Wolves boss named an unchanged team for the clash with relegation-threatened Rovers, after his side so impressively beat Leeds five days earlier.
But Wolves failed to produce a shot on target until the 94th minute in a dreadful game at Molineux.
And Lambert suggested he will have learned a lot about the mentality of some of his players.
When asked if he could brush the game off, or look more into it as poor player mentality, Lambert answered: "Probably the latter.
"The intensity wasn't there. Maybe it needs a bit of freshening up, this team, which I will do for Tuesday. I think we need freshness into the team.
"I'll change things up. Some of these lads are running on empty, we've had a long hard season so I'll make a few changes to it and freshen things up."
Lambert, though, said he wouldn't have made any changes to his XI on Saturday, even in hindsight.
"Not really, I thought the team that won at Leeds deserved to go again," he said. "I try not to have any regrets or they can get you down. I just didn't think we did enough.
"I thought the team that did well at Elland Road deserved to go again. I've been really pleased with the form.
Danny Batth again missed out, as did Helder Costa, while Matt Doherty went off injured in the first half.
Lambert added of the trio: "Danny has trained the last few days but with Mike coming in and Stears and Kortney coming on at Leeds and doing well I didn't think I needed to change it.
"It looks like his hamstring at the minute so we'll see how he is.
"That comes from a lot of games through the season including the cup games.
"If it's a pull then you think he'll more than likely be out for the season, if it's just a tweak then he might be okay.
"I thought George Saville did well when he went back to full back, he's played there before for us so it wasn't one where I thought it was a major reshuffle.
"It's difficult, when you can't go up or you can't go down, to keep going.
"We've been in good form over the last few games, winning six in eight with a couple of draws in there. The form's been good but you're going to get games like that."
