Player of the season Emma Cross scored the only goal of the game early in the second half as Wolves won 1-0 away from home in a nervy finale to the campaign.

Victory meant Wolves pipped Loughborough Foxes Women to the crown.

Manager Tim Dudding's team ended the campaign with 18 victories from their 22 games, losing just two matches.

A crucial 3-2 home win over Loughborough Foxes on April 26 set Wolves up for the final run-in. After that they won their remaining four games, all away from home.

They are now just one division below Women's Super League 2.
