Former Wolves boss Walter Zenga linked to Iraq job
Former Wolves boss Walter Zenga is said to be in talks to take charge of the Iraq national team.
Zenga left Wolves last October and hasn't worked in football since.
The Italian was popular with Wolves supporters but lasted just 87 days at Molineux, paying the price for a run of six defeats in 10 matches.
Now the 57-year-old is believed to be considering managing Iraq.
He posted a picture on Instagram of a story stating he was favourite for the job and added: "Life, that's football, a spinning wheel, sometimes, you get lucky sometimes no, but what's good in this business, is that the world is large and full of opportunities.
"Now, I don't know how it will end, but (to) coach a national team is a great opportunity both professional and personal experience.
"The Iraq will play the next matches at home and no longer in 'exile'."
In response to good luck messages Zenga said: "Thank you all but I still haven't signed. It's an opportunity."
Iraq drew 1-1 with Australia in a recent World Cup qualifier but can't qualify for Russia 2018 having won only one game (against Thailand) so far.
They have though qualified for the 2019 Asian Cup.
