Silvio welcomes Nuno appointment at Wolves
Portuguese defender Silvio has welcomed Nuno Espirito Santo's appointment at Wolves – but is unsure of his own future.
The 29-year-old full back is out of contract at Molineux and the club recently announced that a decision hadn't been made on whether to keep him.
A one-year option was written into Silvio's contract but it remains to be seen if he'll be a Wolves player next season.
Silvio told Portuguese newspaper A Bola that Nuno would do 'good work' at Wolves and that he 'hasn't ruled out' staying at Molineux.
"I've never worked with Nuno but he did a great job at Rio Ave, started very well at Valencia, fought for the title until the end with Porto and I trust he will do good work," Silvio is reported as saying.
"I believe that when he gets to know the club’s reality he will want to make some changes."
On the quality in Wolves' current squad he added: "It's not that they don’t have it, but the more the better."
Silvio made just five appearances in 2016/17 after joining from Atletico Madrid.
The Portuguese international said of playing in the Championship: "Besides being very long, it’s a very competitive league. It happens that on Saturday you beat the club on top of the table and on Tuesday play against the last and lose."
"It's a league that’s very different to the Portuguese or even the Premier League – you see teams with a more direct football – but the teams that are up there are those who have more ball possession and try to play the best football.
"Whoever plays well is always closer to winning. Benitez's Newcastle played better than others and were promoted. Carvalhal’s team also play very well, he’s doing a great job."
