More set to depart as Wolves' summer clearout begins
Wolves’ summer clearout is expected to escalate further after the departures of Silvio, George Saville and Jed Wallace.
Saville and Wallace left Molineux for Millwall yesterday for undisclosed fees. It is believed Wolves have recouped at least the £1.5million they collectively paid for the pair.
Portuguese international Silvio also left the club after making just five appearances in an injury-hit campaign.
The trio take the number of departures this summer to five – after Mike Williamson and James Henry were also released – while Wolves elected against signing Andreas Weimann and Richard Stearman on permanent deals.
Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Andy Lonergan, Jack Price and Paul Gladon are likely to follow, with new boss Nuno Espirito Santo assessing his squad before deciding who else can leave.
Ebanks-Landell is likely to rejoin newly-promoted Sheffield United, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell last season, while Lonergan has been told he can leave.
Wolves took a one-year option up on Price's contract last month but will allow him to go if a club meets his valuation – with former Wolves boss Kenny Jackett thought to be interested in taking him to Portsmouth.
And £1million striker Gladon is expected to depart after making just three appearances last season. The Dutchman wasn't at Compton Park yesterday when Wolves returned for pre-season training.
