Strikes from Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Nouha Dicko saw Wolves edge past the Tigers.

They had to see out nine minutes of stoppage time and were indebted to a great John Ruddy save with the score at 2-1, while Hull also hit the woodwork.

And Nuno said: "It was a good result, we did parts of the performance really well and other parts not so well.

"It was a game, a tough game. Offensively we had moments of really good football and deserved the goals we got.

"All goals had the beauty that the fans come for

"This is the moments to live in...to see the goal of Ruben, the magic of Bright, the space of Nouha...it's good football. I'm very happy.

"We can see from set pieces (we struggled)...John made a good save, important for the team, the key moments of defending of John are very important.

"We have to work hard at set pieces and not concede goals from set pieces."

Wolves have now beaten three teams tipped to be in the promotion mix – Middlesbrough, Derby and Hull – to put them second in the very early Championship table behind Cardiff on goal difference, who Wolves host at Molineux on Saturday.

Nuno said of his team's 100 per cent start: "First of all it shows the hard work the boys did from day one, the way they prepared themselves for this big challenge.

"It's the great reward we have for so many hours in pre-season working. The way the boys are so focused on their task, it's amazing

"Nine points is a big reward for us.

"Our fans are being amazing with us, helping us and enjoying it. This is what we're here for, to try and make them have happy moments.

"I'm not worried about (keeping their feet on the ground). My message is very clear – tomorrow is the most important day, the past doesn't count."

After the match Hull boss Leonid Slutsky described Wolves as the best team in the division.

"I thank him and appreciate those words," Nuno said.

"I know Leonid, I recognise the value he has, we're talking about someone really important.

"It's going to be a very hard task but I thank him."

And finally the boss summed up Neves' 30-yard wondergoal in just three words...: "It was poetry."
