An entertaining match at Griffin Park somehow finished goalless with both sides spurning chances.

Wolves went close through Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota, while Brentford hit a post and missed a six-yard sitter.

Nuno's team should have won it in injury time but Roderick Miranda delayed his pass to Nouha Dicko when Wolves were three-on-one and the striker was flagged offside, which the head coach believed was the wrong decision.

He said: "I'm not happy. We came here to try for three points. I think we had moments that we were close but also there were moments they were close.

"It was a very good game of football with two teams trying to play a quality game with offensive situations that were really tight, it was interesting for us.

"We both had good chances. Three points I wanted, one point is good. The boys worked for it and with a solid clean sheet.

"Brentford's position is totally false, I'll say that to (Dean Smith). They played well.

"Wednesday's game gives us good information, we work based on our idea and try to find solutions.

"We had good chances but must improve our offensive details.

"Those moments we had clear chances, situations of two v one, three v one, the goalie did well. This momentum you have, you have to take advantage of it.

"Where I am it's very difficult to judge but I didn't see (Dicko being) offside.

"Once again I was concerned with the referee. They must protect football and be fair to both teams.

"I think the boys suffered. Contacts are sometimes made can cost you a game. Coady was fouled...you have to punish.

"It's got to be fair. I'm looking at the game, one point is good, keep building and working hard."

Wing back Barry Douglas missed the game with an injury picked up against Cardiff last week.

Nuno said he only just missed out – and praised Wolves' 1,300 travelling fans.

"We tried for the last minute for him to be an option," Barry said. "This morning he was ready to go but not 100 per cent sure.

"Thank you for the fans, our people were here supporting us.

"They saw a team that fights to the last minute of the game and wasn't happy with one point. We thank them for making so many kilometres to be with us.

"To have this mentality to fight is important for us. Wherever you go it's like a territory...one more territory that Wolves want to conquer."
