Steve Bull: Exciting Wolves times ahead

The international break is over with Wolves now returning to action against Millwall.

We were all hoping a new striker would be amongst our ranks in time for the Championship getting back underway.

Unfortunately it wasn’t to be, but it was interesting to see Jeff Shi say this week he thinks we have got enough up top to get us through to January.

Of course you can’t just sign players for the sake of it. I also really like Léo Bonatini. He’s a grafter, he’s got a great touch and I think he will get goals.

But after him we are looking a bit light. Michał Zyro and young Donovan Wilson and the strikers in reserve.

They have now got a massive opportunity to step up and really help ease the load on Bonatini. Zyro looked a good acquisition when he first joined before he picked up that horrific knee injury.

Wilson is also a very bright talent and is well thought of at the club. I hope they seize their chance.

Personally though I think we are quite lucky Nuno only really plays one up top, with two wide men either side.

And I’m sure it won’ be long into January that we do see a new striker arrive.

Saturday’s game against Millwall will be tough. Neil Harris has built a good side which includes Jed Wallace and George Saville. You’re always worried former players will come back to haunt you.

But I don’t think we should fear anyone. Shi said is his interview he believes this team is ahead of schedule. He has been surprised how quickly they have gelled. And I agree with him. Nuno has done a great job getting them to click so quickly.

Fans are now excited for the future and they should be because I believe this team is going to get better and better.
