And senior sources say the head coach is "going nowhere" with Wolves adopting a firm hands-off approach.

Reports surfaced on Wednesday morning that Everton had contacted Nuno's agent Jorge Mendes as they search for a replacement for Ronald Koeman.

As well as being Nuno's agent, Mendes is a key figure at Molineux and helped facilitate Fosun's £30million takeover last summer.

However the 43-year-old Wolves boss, who signed a three-year contract at Molineux when joining in the summer following his departure from Porto, is understood to be happy at the club and not interested in leaving.

It's believed the club would vehemently oppose any approach and Nuno wouldn't be allowed to go if there was genuine interest.

Nuno is seen as the most important figure in Fosun's project to get Wolves in the Premier League inside the next two seasons.

Wolves have made a flying start under Nuno and last night's 2-0 victory at Norwich saw them return to the top of the Championship with 32 points from 15 matches.
