Steve Bull: Benik Afobe looks a perfect fit back at Wolves

It is great to see Benik Afobe back at Wolves and hopefully he can fire in the goals to help us seal promotion.

Steve Bull is glad to see Benik Afobe back at Wolves

He did a good job during his first spell at Molineux, forming a strong partnership with Bakary Sako and Nouha Dicko.

And he will be eager to rediscover that form. He did not play a lot at Bournemouth, after moving to them for £10million in January 2016, and would have been desperate to get out and get back on the pitch.

Benik scored goals for fun the first time around and you would back him to get between five and 10 before his loan spell – and the season – comes to an end.

He is a natural goalscorer and should flourish under Nuno Espirito Santo.

In his first spell at Wolves, he fed off – and provided chances for Sako and Dicko.

And now he has the likes of Diogo Jota and Ivan Cavaleiro to bounce off. It seems a very good fit.

If you provide the ammunition, which we know Jota and Cavaleiro can, Benik will stick the ball in the net.

It is a smart piece of business, not having an obligation to buy him in the summer.

It means that the onus is on Benik to come in, find out just what he has been missing, and get back among the goals.

He needs to get the goals to fire Wolves to the Premier League – and prove he can be the one leading the line in the top flight.

Benik seems the right addition to a squad which appears fresh after their warm weather training camp in Spain. And hopefully his arrival will spark 12-goal Leo Bonatini back into form.

The Brazilian has gone a while without scoring and having that extra competition, with Rafa Mir also coming in last month, should only be a good thing.

It was nice to surprise my good mate Robert Plant at the UK Americana Awards down in London.

An unbelievable event Hackney Empire on Thursday night, I went down the night before and then presented him with the Best Selling UK Americana Album of The Year award and Plant also received a Lifetime Achievement award.

He could not believe it and said: “Now you’ve got some class on the stage.” It was a great show.
