Wolves' Barry Douglas: Show what we’re made of

A run of two points from three matches has seen Wolves' lead to second place cut from 13 points to six in the space of two weeks.

They host Reading at Molineux on Saturday looking to get back on track, ahead of tough-looking trips to Leeds and Villa in the following seven days.

Douglas said: "We've got 12 cup finals left but we can't look that far ahead, we just need to look at our next game and take it one step at a time.

"It's quite an unusual situation that we're finding ourselves in and this season's all about a learning curve.

"When we're on a high it's brilliant, but now is when we really find out about ourselves and it's where the boys need to step up and show their character."

Nuno Espirito Santo's team lost 2-0 at Fulham on Saturday, three days after conceding a last-gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Norwich.

Twenty-eight year old Scottish left wing back Douglas thinks that late disappointment may have had an impact on the Fulham performance.

"I think subconsciously," he said. "You want to say that we don't dwell on the past and just get on with it but, if you lose a goal in the last minute then it's going to take it out of you and play on your mind a bit.

"We've got so many games left now and there's still a lot of points to pick up, we just need to stay positive.

"Likewise, we need the supporters backing now more than ever.

"We've not found ourselves in this situation so it's going to be challenging but I'm sure we can come through with everyone pulling in the same direction.

"Overall, I don't think it was good enough and we were the first to say that ourselves in the dressing room. We were a bit flat.

"But that's football and sometimes we need to learn to deal with different situations.

"We lost but we will take a lot from it. Games like this is where we learn the most."
