Victory over local rivals Blues in Sunday’s sell-out derby clash at Molineux will see Wolves return to the Premier League for the first time since 2012.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team could also win promotion today should Fulham fail to beat Brentford in the 5.30pm kick-off at Craven Cottage.

Coady, who has skippered the side in the absence of club captain Danny Batth in recent months, said there had been no change in Wolves’ preparations this week ahead of the big game.

He and the players will watch Fulham’s game this afternoon in their pre-match team hotel.

And he said: “We’ll be watching it in the hotel and we’ll see what happens.

“We’re ready for anything – we’ve got a game on Sunday no matter what.

“We want to win every game we play so we’ll be ready whatever happens.

“We’re near the end line and we want to finish the job.”

Blues come into the game needing points themselves in the battle for Championship survival.

Confident

Coady is under no illusions of the difficulty of the clash but Wolves are in confident mood.

“We’re ready to go,” he said. “We all know the situation and where we’ve put ourselves. Everyone’s really excited.

“It’s been like that all season, looking forward to games and that doesn’t change now.

“We all know what’s at stake but we’re preparing exactly the same way as we usually do.

“There’s no stone left unturned, he goes over everything on a daily basis and it’s the same this week.

“It’s a Midlands derby, I’ve played in a few myself and it’s not nice to be on the losing end.

“We go into the game confident and ready to go. We’ll stick to what we know best and prepare right.”

Coady also praised star man Ruben Neves for his stunning goal against Derby in midweek.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Coady said. “The technique and the way he puts the dip and swerve on it and it’s in the top corner...I actually think his touch was a bit of a bad one for Ruben!

“The way he moves his body to get it back...it’s sublime. He does it on a daily basis here.”

Meanwhile, Blues boss Garry Monk wants to spoil the Wolves promotion celebrations.

“That has to be our aim and our belief,” he said. “There’s no getting away from the fact that we’re playing the best team in the league on their patch and with everything that’s going on for them.

“We have to forget all that and focus on ourselves and put our best on the pitch. The mentality and fighting spirit we have along with our fans and everything, we need to go and show that at the weekend.”
