Bookies: Wolves priced up to finish seventh in Premier League
Wolves' preparations have begun for their Premier League adventure and if the bookies are to be believed, Nuno's men could be gearing up for a European tour next summer!
Many firms have the Molineux men finishing seventh, a position that was good enough for Burnley to gain entry to Europa League second qualifying round following their superb campaign last season.
Wolves are as skinny as 100/1 with Ladbrokes to win the league with only the 'big six' of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal quoted at a shorter price.
For value hunters out there, punters can still get 300/1 with Bet 365 and Bet Victor, but with the club set to splash more cash, that price may not be available for long.
It represents an astonishing turnaround for the club who were facing the very real possibility of a return to League One just two seasons ago.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Most clubs are merely looking to consolidate their Premier League status after promotion, but Wolves will have loftier ambitions than that.
“They continue to make signings, such as Rui Patricio from Sporting, that suggest that they will not need a transition season before competing in the top half of the table.”
“The fact they’re 11/10 to finish in the top half suggests that Wolves will be troubling European competitions before they have to worry about a return to the second tier.”
Nuno Espirito Santo's arrival provided the catalyst to awaken the sleeping giant with bookies predicting a higher Premier League finish than the likes of Everton (300/1), West Ham (500/1) and Leicester (750/1).
At the other end of the table, Cardiff (8/11), Huddersfield (5/4) and Fulham (15/8) are the three favourites for relegation, followed by Brighton (2/1) and Watford (9/4).
Wolves are available at 9/1 to be one-season wonders - again showing the faith the bookies have in the club establishing themselves in the top flight.
