Wolves target Oleksandr Zinchenko wants to stay at Manchester City
Oleksandr Zinchenko says he's 'dreaming' of staying with Manchester City amid interest from Wolves.
Wolves had a club record £16million accepted for the Ukrainian international, who can play in midfield or down the left flank.
It was thought City were prepared to sell but boss Pep Guardiola suggested Zinchenko had a future with the club last week – and now the player has stated he wants to fight for his place at the Etihad.
"To be honest, I think Manchester City is one of the best teams in the world right now,” Zinchenko told the Mirror.
"Everyone dreams of playing here, and that goes for me as well.
"I try to learn every single day and I’m going to fight here.
"I’m ready for everything because I have to be professional. You don’t know what can happen in the future, but I’m dreaming of staying here.
"Everyone wants to be part of this team."
Zinchenko played in central midfield in a friendly against Liverpool yesterday and impressed.
If Zinchenko does stay at City it isn't expected to impact on the sale of Barry Douglas. Wolves have accepted a bid from Leeds United for the Scot who is now weighing up his options.
