Wolves keeper John Ruddy's attitude is 'fantastic'

John Ruddy's attitude has been acclaimed as ‘fantastic’ by Nuno Espirito Santo – who says the keeper has a big role to play whether he’s in the team or not.

Portugal international Rui Patricio has taken Ruddy’s spot between the sticks for the opening two games of the campaign.

The ex-Norwich keeper said last week he was trying to find a ‘solution’ with Nuno, but that he would support the team.

And former keeper Nuno said of Ruddy’s approach: "Fantastic. Big John give us a lot and he gives us, on a daily basis, many, many important things.

"I've been there, I was a goalkeeper and it’s tough, because as a coach you know that when you take a decision on one goalkeeper it’s going to make a higher percentage of the game.

"But he has to take that the importance of the goalkeeper is not only by himself, it’s a small group inside a group of players.

"The way they support each other, Rui, Ruddy, Rui Barbosa (goalkeeping coach), is what makes one of them give the best to the team.

"It’s not about Rui. It’s about the small group."
