Ruthless Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is after killer touch

Raul Jimenez says Wolves are always firmly focused on dominating teams – but admits they need to be more clinical.

Promoted sides are sometimes conservative but Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have shown plenty of attacking intent so far in the Premier League.

They had 30 attempts and the lion’s share of possession against Burnley on Sunday.

Wolves only won 1-0 at Molineux though and Jimenez, who got the goal, is striving for more.

“We are focused on that, possession, having a lot of shots,” he said.

“It’s amazing. All the game, we have possession and we’re always thinking of the net of the other team.

“Maybe we have to score more. We had a lot of opportunities to do it.

“We enjoyed the victory but we are going to focus on that.”

It was Jimenez’s second strike in old gold after finding the net in their opening-day 2-2 draw with Everton.

The Mexican international had missed a couple of good opportunities against the Clarets before breaking the deadlock, but was always confident he would beat beat Joe Hart – his shot clipping the post on its way in, after Matt Doherty’s lay-off.

“It was a great day for us, our first win in the Premier League at home,” said Jimenez.

“I’m happy for that, and getting the goal. I’m always looking for the goals, to score.

“I had two opportunities before so I just looked forward and thought that I would score.”

The 27-year-old is now excited about Saturday’s trip to Old Trafford, to take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

Wolves’ last win there came 38 years ago – Mel Eves getting the only goal in the Division One encounter.

But, not deterred by that statistic, Jimenez has urged Wolves to go out and make a statement at the famous ground.

After all, they are confident they can give any top flight team a run for their money.

“It was a great match (against Burnley) and now we have another opportunity on Saturday to continue, at one of the most famous stadiums and famous teams here in England,” added Jimenez.

“We have a great opportunity to prove that we are here.

“We are going into it thinking we can win all games.

“We know every game is different and we have to do different things, but we know we can.”
