Nuno backs Diogo Jota to improve

Diogo Jota's fortunes in front of goal will improve, Nuno Espirito Santo believes, as he backed the Portuguese forward.

Last season's top scorer with 18 goals has yet to find the net in the Premier League.

With Ivan Cavaleiro and Adama Traore pushing for starts, Jota may find his place under threat with Nuno hinting at changes for today's trip to face Brighton.

But the boss said of Jota: "Naturally, things will come

"Goals is one of the important parts of Diogo's game, because he's a goalscorer and he's proved that before.

"But he has a lot of tasks that he's doing very well for the team."

Wolves will today look to bounce back from last weekend's disappointing 2-0 defeat to Watford at Molineux.

Nuno said he and his backroom team had spent a lot of time analysing the loss to the Hornets – as they would any game.

"We spent a large amount of time analysing our performance – the result is not important," he said.

"It's how you do things and what happened for you to not do (your tasks). Or even when you do it, what went good, so you can repeat it.

"So we spend the same amount of time on every result.

"Of course we have to move forward – we cannot spend too much time in sorrow.

"This is how things work in football."
