Wolves normally keep all transfer figures undisclosed but in a rare move they have revealed they've agreed to pay Sporting £16million for the 30-year-old.

It's not quite the £50m Sporting were claiming they wanted when they filed a complaint with FIFA in the summer, but it's still a lofty fee.

And the £16m figure places Patricio no less than 12th in the all-time goalkeeper transfer list.

In fact, were this deal done six months ago, Patricio would have been eighth on the list. He joins the likes of Gianluigi Buffon, David de Gea and Franceso Toldo as one of the most expensive goalkeepers of all time, and places ahead of Angelo Peruzzi (£13m), Sebastien Frey (£13m) and Jan Oblak (£13m).

Here's who is ahead of Patricio...

World's most expensive goalkeepers

1 – Kepa Arrizabalaga, Athletic Bilbao to Chelsea in 2018, £71m

2 – Alisson Becker, Roma to Liverpool in 2018, £65m

3 – Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea to Real Madrid in 2018, £35m

4 – Ederson Moraes, Benfica to Manchester City in 2017, £34.7m

5 – Gianluigi Buffon, Parma to Juventus in 2001, £32.6m

6 – Jordan Pickford, Sunderland to Everton in 2017, £25m

7 – Francesco Toldo, Fiorentina to Inter Milan in 2001, £23.85m

8 – Bernd Leno, Bayer Leverkusen to Arsenal in 2018, £19.3m

9 – Manuel Neuer, Schalke to Bayern Munich in 2011, £19m

10 – David De Gea, Atletico Madrid to Manchester United in 2011, £18.9m

11 – Claudio Bravo, Barcelona to Manchester City in 2016, £17m

12 – Rui Patricio, Sporting to Wolves in 2018, £16m

The fee also takes Wolves' summer spending to a whopping £81m. That figure includes the £12m Wolves are obliged to pay for Leander Dendoncker, but not the £10m they shelled out for Benik Afobe who was almost instantly sold to Stoke.
