Nuno ecstatic after another thrilling Wolves victory

Diogo Jota put Wolves in front at a 50,000-strong St James' Park, but Ayoze Perez soon equalised for the hosts.

The Magpies later had DeAndre Yedlin sent off and looked like they were going to hold on for a point until Matt Doherty struck deep into stoppage time – making it back-to-back Premier League victories after last Wednesday's triumph against Chelsea.

"I'm very happy, of course. Getting a goal in the last minute, you cannot disguise it. You have to be happy," said Nuno.

"We know how difficult it is to achieve back-to-back wins in the Premier League, so I must be happy.

"The performance, we are going to analyse. We'll look at it like we always do.

"It was not, for moments, one of the best ones, but it was consistent enough for me to say that we stayed on the game.

"We were with our tasks, we stayed in shape. It's very difficult to play against 10 men.

"Credit to Newcastle, they didn't sit down. They created problems.

"It was a very tough game. St James' Park is a very, very difficult place to come and compete like we did, so well done to the boys.

"Credit to Newcastle and all my respect goes to Rafa as I really admire him as a coach."

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez was incensed after Yedlin's sending off – shown for pulling down Jota – but Nuno felt it was a clear dismissal.

"I've seen the images and honestly, with all my respect to Rafa, which is a lot, the law is clear," he said.

"You can argue if (Jamaal) Lascelles can arrive on time to avoid the one-v-one with Diogo and the goalkeeper, but I don't think so.

"I think Diogo is clear, one-v-one with the goalkeeper. It's a red card."

The Magpies were also aggrieved with an elbow from Willy Boly on Perez.

Nuno admitted Boly caught the striker but did not feel he meant to.

"It's an elbow. It's a clear elbow on Ayoze but, from point of view, not being overprotective or not, he jumps for the ball," he said.

"I think he doesn't see it. It's not intentional."

And on if one of his players would go out to hurt an opposing player, Nuno added: "No, honestly."
