DEAL: Wolves sign exciting winger David Wang

Wolves have confirmed the signing of exciting young winger David Wang from Spanish club Jumilla B (Estudiantes).

Wang has put pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half year deal and will immediately go on loan to Sporting CP to continue his development.

The 18-year-old was nominated as one of the ’60 best young talents in world football’ by the Guardian last year and has impressed during his 16 appearances this season in the Spanish fourth tier.

Born in Spain, Wang grew up in Cuenca, being named the best futsal player in his home province for three consecutive seasons between 2009 and 2012.

In 2014 he joined Mostoles in the Spanish under-16s league, featuring for the team during two seasons before a loan spell with Real Murcia’s under-19s.

Last season, Wang (who is fluent in Spanish, English and Chinese) joined Josep Maria Gene on loan where he scored three goals in 24 appearances.

Wang is expected to go straight into Sporting’s B side for the remainder of the season.
