Aston Villa close in on Wolves defender Kortney Hause amid West Brom interest
Aston Villa are close to completing a loan deal for Wolves defender Kortney Hause amid interest from Albion.
Villa nearly signed Hause last week but the deal hit a snag, alerting the Baggies to the possibility of his availability.
However, Dean Smith is desperate to bolster his threadbare backline, and Villa have now returned to Wolves to get the deal over the line.
The 23-year-old is expected to join Smith’s side on loan until the end of the season in the next 48 hours.
He should be available for Villa’s match with Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Hause has struggled to gain a foothold in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans at Molineux, and hasn’t played a minute of Premier League football this season.
The England under-21 international joined Wolves from Wycombe Wanderers in 2014, but has found his chances limited over the past 18 months.
Albion have already brought in versatile defender Mason Holgate on loan from Everton this month.
