Tammy Abraham returns to Villa training – but could still move to Wolves
Striker Tammy Abraham returned to training with Villa today – but Wolves are understood to be still hopeful of signing the striker on loan.
Reports surfaced today suggesting Abraham has decided to stay with Villa until the end of the season.
However the Express & Star understands that a prospective loan move to Wolves is not dead – and the issue is with FIFA ratifying the move.
Abraham has played for Villa and Chelsea Under-23s this season. The Premier League and the FA are believed to have given the green light, but FIFA have yet to state their position and Abraham is said to be concerned that he could end up in limbo if he agrees to move to Wolves and then can't be registered to play.
There is thought to be frustration on Wolves' part. The club are believed to be putting pressure on FIFA for a final decision.
Until then Abraham, who missed training yesterday, is back with Villa ahead of this weekend's game at Wigan.
It's believed that Wolves remain hopeful of signing Abraham on loan for the rest of the campaign should football's governing body advise Wolves that the move would go through.
Abraham has chipped in with 16 goals in just 20 league games for Dean Smith's Villa this season.
