Nuno: Wolves played badly in Southampton loss
Honest boss Nuno Espirito Santo admits Wolves did not deserve to come away from Southampton with anything as they put in a 'bad performance'.
Wolves fell to a 3-1 defeat at St Mary's on an afternoon punctuated by poor defending.
Nathan Redmond was at the double, either side of Willy Boly's reply for Nuno's side, and Shane Long wrapped things up for the Saints.
The defeat is not as damaging as it could have been after seventh-chasing rivals Everton lost at Fulham this afternoon while Leicester were beaten by Newcastle last night, but Nuno said: "I think it was a bad game. A bad performance.
"Since the beginning of the game, our defensive organisation was not at our best.
"The only moment we played the way we can play was after the moment we conceded (the opener) until the moment we equalised.
"Those were the moments we played better.
"We were on the front foot and we equalised. The game was there for us, but we conceded in a way we cannot concede.
"The game became harder and the second half was bad. A bad performance.
"We are a team that wants to compete in every game, and we didn't compete at our best.
"We need to regroup, analyse, look at the game and react for the next one."
Wolves are now five without a win on the road in the Premier League.
Southampton's victory was a massive boost in their quest for survival.
"Southampton are a very good team with very good players and Ralph (Hasenhuttl) is doing a fantastic job," added Nuno.
"I think they are a very good opponent. Congratulations to them as they were better than us."
