Espanyol vs Wolves: Club hoping for 3000-strong travelling support
Wolves are hoping to have a 3,000-strong army with them in Barcelona for the Europa League last-32 clash at Espanyol.
Ticket details have been announced for both legs against the Spanish club – at Molineux on February 20 and at the RCDE Stadium on February 27 – and Wolves have been awarded an initial allocation of 2,126 for the second leg.
The two clubs, though, are in talks over another 1,000 away tickets.
Wolves said: “Initial indications are that 2,126 tickets will be made available to away fans, but discussions about a possible increase are ongoing.”
Espanyol, who are bottom of La Liga but won their Europa group, average crowds of around 20,000 in their 40,000-seater ground.
The Barcelona derby was watched by 33,000, and the Spanish outfit are hoping for a bigger crowd than usual.
Wolves have urged fans not to buy tickets in the home end, insisting ‘any supporters who may obtain tickets in home areas will be refused entry to the stadium or ejected’.
Tickets for the first leg have been put on sale for season-ticket holders
The cheapest adult ticket is £25, and the most expensive is £40.
On pricing, the club said: “Ticket prices for the tie will mirror Premier League Category B fixtures.”
Meanwhile, Patrick Cutrone holds no grudges over his short spell at Wolves as it made him ‘grow as a man and player’.
The striker is now at Fiorentina, with Wolves letting him go just six months after signing him from AC Milan for £16m. He scored on his first start for his new club on Tuesday.
“At Wolves it was a great experience, I learned many things, in training I learned a lot. It was a new culture, I grew as a man and as a player,” said Cutrone.
