Wolves boss Nuno: We already have solution

Nuno Espirito Santo has reiterated the ‘solutions are not outside’ – with transfer deadline day expected to be a quiet one for Wolves.

A 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday continued a dreadful run, making it eight games without a win in the Premier League.

But Nuno insists he is focused on getting more out of his current group rather than making a move before the window closes at 11pm tonight.

“We are always active, because we have to be alert – ins and outs can happen while the transfer window is open. But now we have to focus on the squad that we have and things we have to improve,” said Nuno.

“We have to improve our players – our players must play better. The solutions are not outside.

“Willian Jose arrived. That was a lack (of striker) that we had.

“We needed another option for our front, our attack.

“And probably we are going to stay like that, yes.”

Wolves have made one addition in this window, with striker Jose coming in on loan from Real Sociedad.

There is a £22million option to make the deal permanent for the 29-year-old Brazilian in the summer.

He made his full debut at Selhurst Park at the weekend, and Nuno said on his performance: “I think he did well.

“It’s up to us to integrate him better, in our dynamic of the team.

“But he had good movements and a good couple of chances.

“So, I think he’ll honestly be a good option who can give us a good help.

“Very pleased because not only what we did in this game, but what he can do in the future is what I’m positive about.

“He’s a good player and he’ll give us good things.

“It’s just a matter of integrating him better. This is our job, and for his team-mates to recognise his strengths and deciding faster so he can take advantage of these moments.”

One player heading out is forward Patrick Cutrone.

The 23-year-old Italian was recalled from Fiorentina in his homeland earlier this month but is now going out again, this time on loan to Spanish La Liga club Valencia until the end of the current season.

“We recalled Patrick with the clear idea to help us and help him regarding the situation he was in at Fiorentina,” added Nuno. “He was here with us for a couple of weeks.

“Clearly, with the arrival of Willian (Jose), Patrick expected more minutes, so he’s joining another club.”
