Nuno pleased with Wolves' strong finish in Newcastle draw
Nuno Espirito Santo is pleased with how Wolves reacted and 'finished the game really strong' to draw at Newcastle and extend their unbeaten run.
Ruben Neves' sublime header came after Jamaal Lascelles opened the scoring shortly into the second period, making it five without defeat for Nuno's side - their longest streak of the season.
It was also the fifth successive 1-1 against the Magpies, and on if that was a fair result, Nuno said: "It's not about the result. You just look at the game.
"Newcastle started very good, pressing and controlling the game.
"After that, we were able to control and hold the first impact. We had good possession and, after that, I honestly believe we had control and managed the game.
"I'm disappointed with the way we conceded, but the reaction was good and we finished the game really strong.
"We could've won it with the chance we had, but Newcastle had a chance in the final moments as well.
"A thrilling game of football. Too bad St James' Park was not full to enjoy it."
Romain Saiss heroically got in the way of Joelinton's shot towards the end before Wolves substitute Fabio Silva was, somehow, denied by Martin Dubravka.
A draw, ultimately, was a fair way to end a solid February for Nuno's charges.
"The reaction was good and we finished the game really, really well," added Nuno.
"This is what we expect as the expectations are really high.
"We have talented players and we have to improve them. We are working very hard on that."
