Wolves man Adama Traore looking to grow his game
Adama Traore has outlined his desire to ‘grow up in different aspects of the game’ and get back to his best for Wolves.
The Spanish winger has endured a frustrating season so far, failing to register a goal or an assist in the Premier League – his one goal coming against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup in January.
He has continued to cause lots of problems for defenders with his physical prowess, but he is now aiming to fine-tune his game and return to prominence.
“For sure. I think that is part of my game and I love to play football – obviously I love what I do,” said Traore, on if he enjoys the physical battles.
“But it is not only about that. I think I have to grow up in different aspects of the game, and that is what I will do to be the best I can be.”
Traore, who will be hoping to break his duck against Liverpool on Monday, has recently been oiling up his arms to avoid any further shoulder issues – after suffering several dislocations last season.
On that approach, he said: “There are some teams, I won’t say names, they know I did have some problems with my shoulder, so they target it.
“So we’ve been working a lot with my shoulder, with the physios and medical staff and training, and they came up with a plan. We tried it and it worked.”
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, meanwhile, has lofty expectations of Traore as he waits for his talent to truly ‘explode’.
“The expectation on Adama is high because he’s a unique player,” added Nuno.
“He is very talented. My view is that Adama is growing himself as a player.
“He had been playing continuously in one position, and now he’s on the left side.
“All the dynamics there are different. It’s not easy.
“But our expectations of him are so high as we realise there is so much talent there, and we just want that to explode.”
