Former Ryder Cup star Peter Baker is leading the Shropshire charge at golf's latest Challenge Tour event.

Baker, who was born in Shifnal, fired a two-under-par 69 at MacDonald Spey Valley to lie five shots off the first-round pace.

Telford's James Busby was level par while Shrewsbury-born Scott Drummond struggled to a 77.

Meanwhile, Ludlow's Oliver Farr fired a one-over-par 73 to drop to a share of 26th spot in the EuroPro Tour tournament at Collingtree Park.

The 24-year-old was six shots off the lead at three-under-par entering today's final round.
