The 30-year-old recorded his best Challenge Tour finish last week when he was runner-up in the ECCO Tour Championship in Denmark. And he carried the confidence from that display into the first round of the Rolex Trophy in Switzerland yesterday.
Busby carded a first round six-under-par 66 to lie four shots off the lead and in 11th spot in the elite 42-strong field.
The Shropshire hopeful currently lies 32nd in the Challenge Tour order of merit with the top 20 at the end of the season earning a passport to join the world's stars on the European Tour.
