Amateurs and pros to hit it off for golf title

One of the biggest titles in Shropshire & Herefordshire golf is up for grabs tomorrow.

The leading amateurs and professionals from the two counties are ready to do battle in the S&H Open at Shrewsbury.

There will be 11 players from the paid ranks while 40 amateurs will take their chance in the 36-hole competition.

The action gets under way at 7.50am with the final groups starting their afternoon round at 2.10pm.

Wrekin will attempt to become S&H's first winners of the English Champion Club this weekend.

The team of S&H first team captain Andrew Stephenson, Jamie Brittain and Declan McDonnell will be playing in the national finals at Stoneham in Hampshire.

All three scores over the two rounds to be played tomorrow and Sunday count.
