James Busby in the hunt for victory
James Busby this afternoon kept himself in the hunt for the biggest victory of his career.
The 30-year-old, who plays out of The Shropshire Golf Centre in Muxton, carded a second round 70 at the Kazakhstan Open to move to seven-under-par at the halfway stage of the European Challenge Tour event.
Busby lies four strokes off the lead and is in 15th place while Lilleshall Hall's former Ryder Cup star Peter Baker is one shot further back.
Meanwhile, Shifnal's Alexandra Peters was left kicking her heels on day two of the British Women's Open at Hoylake in Liverpool.
Just over an hour's play was possible this morning – and those scores were later declared void – before extreme winds led to play being abandoned for the day.
Meanwhile, one of the biggest titles in Shropshire & Herefordshire golf is up for grabs tomorrow.
The leading amateurs and professionals from the two counties are ready to do battle in the S&H Open at Shrewsbury.
Wrekin will attempt to become S&H's first winners of the English Champion Club this weekend.
