The 30-year-old, who plays out of The Shropshire Golf Centre at Muxton, is in a tie for sixth position after two rounds of the Challenge Tour Grand Final in Italy.
Busby began the week in 45th place on the Challenge Tour order of merit with only the top 21 graduating to the main European Tour.
An encouraging opening two days – which has seen him card rounds of 66 and 67 to lie just four shots off the pace – have moved him up to 36th on the projected rankings.
