Six of the best for the girls
Two strong bowling performances saw Shropshire’s Under-15 girls round off their campaign with two more T20 victories to leave them unbeaten in the format this season.
They made is six out of six with victories over Wales and Worcestershire at Quatt, to go with a strong season in the longer 40-over campaign.
Their first game at Quatt saw them take on Wales and bowl them out for 87 with Emily Churms taking 3-14, Megan Trickett 3-17 and Ellie Lewis 2-17.
There were also two run outs by Eleanor Yates and Keely Jones to finish the innings off.
In reply, Shropshire knocked off the runs for the loss of two wickets with nearly seven overs to spare. Trickett hit 21 while Yates was unbeaten on 28 and Ellie Micklewright on 23.
Shropshire bowled first again in their second game against Worcestershire, and this time dismissed them for 52. Churms was again in the wickets with 3-5 from her four overs, while skipper Molly Batkin took 3-10.
Shropshire lost three quick wickets at the start of their reply, but Micklewright was again unbeaten, this time on 20, to steer the side home by seven wickets.
Coach Simon Gregory said: “It was an excellent finish for the girls with a 100 per cent record in the T20 competition, and they also enjoyed a strong finish in the 40 over competition.”
