Butler’s blast and a strike from Ben Pierpoint saw Celtic to a 4-3 triumph at Madeley Sports.

Leading 2-0 at the interval thanks to a Butler brace, Gobowen were pegged back after the interval with Madeley levelling things up on the hour mark.

But Butler then completed his treble before Ben Pierpoint added a fourth. Madeley scored a late consolation from the spot, but were unable to find an equaliser.

Evander Bagry and Nathen Wilkinson were Madeley’s marksmen.

Free-scoring Stoke Heath are just one point behind Gobowen with two games in hand, and were good value for their 6-1 win against Brown Clee.

Stoke Heath have now scored a staggering 27 goals in their first four outings of the season.

At the other end of the table, St Martins Village triumphed 3-2 at home to pick up their first win of the season at the expense of Oakengates Rangers.

Having improved in recent weeks without any reward, goals from Lee Morris, Harry Dunn and Lewis Jones clinched the points for the Village.

Two goals in the final 20 minutes made sure Shrewsbury Juniors stayed unbeaten as they won 2-0 away at Prees, which in turn consigned Prees to a first defeat of the campaign.

Daryl Rogers scored the first before a Ryan Mansell free-kick made it two with 10 minutes left on the clock.
