Only our best will do – warns Haughmond boss Dan Williams
Haughmond boss Dan Williams has warned his side must be at their best tomorrow to keep their West Midlands League Premier Division title hopes alive.
Williams' men face a tough clash away to a Wellington side that have suffered just one defeat in their last eight games - a sequence that includes an eye-catching 5-1 win over table-toppers Tividale.
Haughmond go into the weekend a point behind Tividale with both sides having two games to play.
"Wellington are above us in the form table at the moment and it's going to be a tough game," said Williams
"They beat us at our place earlier in the season and are strong at home.
"They also put five past Tividale recently so that shows how tough the game is.
"We will have to be at our best and play better than we have in recent weeks to get anything out of the game.
"It would be great to take the title race to the last week but to do that we are going to have to win tomorrow because I don't think Tividale will lose against Black Country Rangers."
But Williams will have a stronger squad to chose from tomorrow after a patched up side beat Pegasus 5-0 last weekend.
He is also hoping to have Market Drayton's Louis Irvine, who has signed dual registration forms, available for a second successive weekend.
"We have got a good squad out, so I a happy about that," added Williams.
"We came through last weekend without picking up any fresh injuries and we will a have a few players back.
"We were 4-0 up at half-time and the second half was really flat. It's a game that no one will remember but it was one we had to win. We did that and didn't pick up any more injuries.
