The ice-hockey outfit, who play at Telford Ice Rink, are set to field sides in Division One and Division Two of the NIHL North league next season.

Speaking last week, Mike Washburn – who will run the club – said it was vital Telford had two teams to help younger players develop.

Now the official, who was previously chairman of Telford Tigers, has said the club will do what it can to ensure supporters can watch both sides next year.

“There is not a detailed plan yet, but a direction of travel,” Washburn said.

“I am absolutelypassionate that we see this as a club that owns two teams. We will be doing our best to make sure our fans can watch both teams, week in week out.

“Tickets to watch the club, not the team. That would make sense.

“A Division One and Division Two team, that’s what I have applied for as it makes really coherent sense. The hope is to get young kids and push them through.”

Tom Watkins, who coached Telford Tigers to the ELP title last season, will take charge of first division side next season.

But a coach for the second team is yet to be found.

“With the speed of events, there has not been an opportunity to talk about who will coach the second team,” Washburn added.
