Watkins has taken on a wider remit with both roles and the club pointed to his work ethic and commitments as they set about running two sides next term.

Tigers clubs will compete in both the Moralee North 1 and Laidler North 2 Conferences.

A statement read: "Tom will be working very closely with Mike (Washburn) to build on the great foundations that were laid last season in Telford.

"There is a renewed vigour in the club to make sure that we deliver the very best that we can offer to our fans, players and the wider community alike.

"The real work has already started in earnest and Tom is currently talking with prospective signings at all levels.

"We recognise that communication has been light over recent days, this is due to nothing more than Tom being away on holiday for a week and taking a well-earned rest!"

Tigers promised more announcements in the coming days.

It was last week revealed that the ice hockey club could continue under its former Tiger guise after a deal was reached for all trademarks to be transferred to the owners of the champions of the now-defunct English Premier League.
