Tom Watkins was thrilled with his addition to help boost the Tigers squad for next season.

“Macaulay is a young man I have watched develop and have coached for some time, through his junior hockey and when he broke into the Tigers team. I’m delighted to be able to bring him back to play for his local club.

"He is a very confident guy who is always willing to step up in key situations and never shirks any responsibility. He is a skilled guy who can do some fantastic things with the puck on the stick but what I like about him is that he can play with some edge and aggression.

"He has good size, is strong and can protect the puck well but also has good first step speed.

"As his coach, I will be focussing on his all-round game ensuring that he is a 200-foot player who shows responsibility on both sides of the puck.

"He is very talented and exciting to watch but what people probably don’t know is that he is a tremendous athlete, who always scores very highly on all fitness testing results.”

Macaulay was also delighted to head back to his home town team.

“I’m really happy to be back in my home town again. Leaving in the first place wasn’t something that I wanted to do at the time but it felt like it was probably the best thing for me to do then.

"After all the changes that have taken place in the league I have been speaking with Tom and following our last chat it was obvious to me that it was now time to come back home to Telford.

"I’m looking forward to getting going with the new team and competing in Moralee next season.”
