Telford Tigers slay Deeside Dragons

Telford Tigers 1 returned to NIHL Moralee Division action on Sunday night against Deeside Dragons. Tigers had progressed to the semi final of the National Cup on Saturday with a 9-6 aggregate win over Streatham.

Deeside were bottom of the league at the start of play and had lost to Tigers 11-1 in their earlier meeting this season.

Tigers dominated the 1st period with goals from Scott McKenzie, Brodie Jesson, Warren Tait, Jason Silverthorn and Jonathan Weaver leaving Tigers 5-0 ahead at the break.

Tigers continued the goal glut in the 2nd period with goals from Adam Jones, Dan Mitchell, Tait’s 2nd of the night, Silverthorn’s 2nd and 3rd of the night.

Dragons finally got on the scoresheet through Alex Parry. Tigers then scored through McKenzie’s 2nd of the night, Adam Taylor and Dale White to end the 2nd period ahead 13-1.

The 3rd period saw further goals for Tigers from Ricky Plant, Weaver’s 2nd of the night, Mitchell’s 2nd of the night, Tait’s 3rd and Jesson’s 2nd of the night.

Tigers remain in 3rd place in the league, 6 points behind leaders Sheffield Steeldogs.
