The versatile forward bagged 48 points in 27 games after rejoining the club midway through last season, including an important brace in the NIHL Moralee North play-off semi-final.

He had previously played for the Tigers between 2009 and 2015, netting hundreds of points on his way to becoming a fans’ favourite.

Head coach Tom Watkins said: “I’m delighted to have Scott returning to the team. He brings a lot of intangibles to the club on and off the ice, he loves the club and likewise the fans think a lot of him.

“His coaching experience has made him a better player and has made him more aware of the little things that make such a big difference to the team and he has a wealth of experience.

“Scott can play any of the three forward positions which is good for the team, he’s strong on face-offs and is good around the net – he’s one of the first guys you go to on a shootout.”

McKenzie added: “It’s great to be back with the Tigers for another year. It was a very easy decision for me to commit to another year in Telford and I’m excited to try and push for even more silverware this season.”
