The 23-year-old boasts a skilful hockey CV having played 44 games in the Elite League, split between his hometown club the Dundee Stars and the Fife Flyers, along with 76 EPIHL games with the Tigers and Basingstoke Bison.

Player-coach Callum Bowley said: “Smithy was one of the first to agree to come back for another season.

“He’s a close friend, a very experienced and talented player, despite his age.”

Since the 2013/14 season, Smith has been a key component with natural talent in the Telford Tigers roster, including last season where the forward bagged 78 points in only 19 games.

Bowley added: “He provides a huge offensive threat, sees the ice well, knows where the net is and often proves to be a nightmare for opposition teams. He’s a key player for us.”

Smith said he was delighted to be back with Tigers again next season.

“I’m glad to be back again and feel confident that the team which Bowley will put together will win us some silverware this season,” he said.
