Telford Tigers sign Dan Mitchell

Mitchell returns to Tigers after a successful spell last year with the senior team as well as the under-18s.

General Manager and head Coach Tom Watkins said: “Dan is a great kid, great fun around the team and a real character. He’s still young, but slotted into the team very well last season and was somebody who improved a great deal.

“He’s still learning but, with the experience of last season, I’m expecting him to really turn some heads and knock a more senior player out of a spot.”

He’s got the attributes I like to have on the team, very quick, fearless, physical and plays with some bite. When he plays with that grit, he is a huge asset for us. I think he is in a good environment for his development which is the most important thing right now. Dan was part of the U18 Playoff Championship winning team which was a great achievement for him as an individual and he has the ability to play as a forward or in defence which is a plus for me as coach.”

Dan stated, “I am delighted to be returning to Telford Tigers for the forthcoming season, I enjoyed playing for the senior team last year and will be looking to compete for a place in the line up every game. I hope that we can reward the fans with some silverware this season.”
