Telford Tigers claw back cup hopes with vital win
Telford Tigers kept their Autumn Cup hopes alive after claiming a vital victory and halting a run of three straight defeats in the competition.
After losing twice to Peterborough and then 6-4 to Swindon Wildcats on Saturday, a win last night was all important.
Swindon were again the opponents, travelling to the Telford Ice Rink, but this time the Tigers were able to run out 5-3 winners.
A hat-trick from Andy McKinney, along with goals from Scott McKenzie and Danny Rose, were enough to claim the victory.
But it was the work of Denis Bell that really impressed on the night, with keeper being awarded man-of-the-match for his performance.
The match ended in a reversal of Saturday’s game, with Telford this time nicking the final goal while the Wildcats pushed in vein for an equaliser.
