The Tigers and the Steeldogs were locked at 3-3 when the visitors from Sheffield equalised in the 37th minute.

But Telford stretched their legs from then on as they raced away to win the top-of-the-table clash 8-4, leaving them a point behind their rivals with a game in hand.

Jonathan Weaver twice fired the Tigers in front, only for the leaders to level on each occasion. Telford were pegged back once more after Adam Taylor had netted before they managed to pull away.

Doug Clarkson restored their lead during a power play in the 38th minute and they never looked back, with Ricky Plant giving them a two-goal cushion at the end of the second period.

Clarkson scored twice more and Andy McKinney also hit the target to stretch their lead to 8-3 in the final period before a late Steeldogs consolation.
