The Tigers have been left with a mountain to climb after losing the opening leg 6-2 yesterday – in a tense encounter where tempers boiled over into fights on several occasions.

Sheffield raced out of the blocks and into a three-goal lead inside 10 minutes, but Andy McKinney got one back in the 19th minute – assisted by Scott McKenzie.

However, a quick-fire double at the start of the second period had the hosts firmly in control as they moved into a 5-1 lead.

Jonathan Weaver – assisted by Jason Silverthorn – brought the score back to 5-2 for Tom Watkins’ team, but Sheffield restored their four-goal lead with just 11 seconds remaining.
