The Shropshire thrower reached the second round twice before coming up against his nemesis, Simon Whitlock, who dumped him out at the first hurdle.

Three days of darts at the Barnsley Metrodome ended the third and final tournament of the weekend, where a rematch came for Pallett against the Aussie, writes Craig Birch.

He had lost 6-4 seven days previously at the German Darts Masters to Whitlock, who is fast becoming his bogeyman after repeating the trick by the same scoreline.

But Pallett had already banked cash from the previous two tournaments, first toeing the oche on Friday for a battling 6-4 win over PDC newcomer James Wilson.

That put him into the money stages for, at least, £250 which he picked up despite going down emphatically to Benito van de Pas, who dropped just a leg beating him 6-1.

He returned to the venue for the second tournament where he produced his best darts of the weekend against Dean Winstanley, comprehensively easing home 6-2.

But Wilson got his revenge for the previous day in the second round, 'the Jammie Dodger' a clear winner as Pallett was beaten 6-1 for the second time of the weekend.

Two-time PDC champion Adrian Lewis won Friday and Sunday's tournaments, with world No 1 Michael van Gerwen prevailing on Saturday.

Pallett remains 46th on the Order of Merit with exactly £36,000 of prize winning and 47th in the Pro Tour standings, with £10,000 so far in 2015.
