The Shropshire thrower banked £1,750 for his tally over the weekend and, on Saturday, matched his top efforts in a Players Championship event.

His exploits lifted him eight places to 49th on the Pro Tour Order of Merit, with the top 50 qualifying for the worlds. He stands joint 48th in the overall standings.

It comes after the 11th and 12th Players Championships of the year, which took place on Saturday and Sunday at the Barnsley Metrodome.

Only eventual winner Dave Chisnall could halt his charge on Saturday, claiming his first ranking title in over 18 months beating Pallett 6-1 along the way.

He opened like a house on fire as he dispatched Lee Palfreyman 6-3, before 6-2 victories over Vincent van der Voort and Andy Boulton.

The high-scoring Chisnall blew him away in the fourth round, but he still made £1,500 as he cements his place in the PDC's top 50.

Pallett picked up another £250 from Sunday's second Players Championship at the same venue, going into the money stages after a tight affair.

Former BDO world champion Christian Kist pushed him close before Pallett triumphed 6-5 in the last leg then losing 6-1 again, to William O'Connor.
