'The Count' - who lives in Aqueduct - would record six wins over the weekend as the organisation's throwers flocked overseas to the Crown Dependency.

First he competed in the Isle of Man Classic, benefitting from a bye past the first round having been placed into Group Seven.

He whitewashed Mark Shewan 3-0, then recording a 3-1 victory over Jason Gallagher before play was upgraded to a best-of-seven format.

Seeing off Robbie Nelson 4-3 put him into the board final, where he defeated Bradley Kirk by 4-0 landslide to reach the last 16.

A splendid battle with Northern Irishman Michael Meaney went his way 4-3, but he was then shut-out himself 4-0 by eventual winner Scott Mitchell in the quarter-finals.

Hankey would return to the oche to take part in the Isle of Man Open, but would this time lose his board final 4-3 to Dean Reynolds in Group Six.

Again walking over the first round, he had recorded 3-1 results over Robbie Cannell and Diogo Portella and a 4-2 success over Craig Anderson.
