Telford Tigers NIHL bring in Jason Parry
Telford Tigers NIHL will boast two title-winning coaches next season after Jason Parry agreed to become assistant coach at the Moralee Conference outfit.
Parry, who guided Telford Titans to the NIHL 2 championship in 2008, will join new head coach Daniel MacKriel, who won the NIHL North title with Blackburn last season.
The former Tigers EPL player was bench coach of the Telford NIHL side last season, when they finished sixth in their first season at the higher level.
Mike Washburn, general manager of Telford Tigers NIHL, said: "I'm really chuffed that Jason will be returning.
"In truth, the position was down to the head coach to make the choice, and it didn't take very long for him to select Jason.
"The fact that this coaching team is home grown to Telford adds a dimension that is very important in the pedigree that we're building.
"These first appointments were critical to the foundations of what we are trying to achieve and the potential is huge.
"I'm looking to Jason to help me with some of the wider aspects of running the team."
Parry, who also helped to guide Telford to promotion from the Laidler Conference in 2014, said: "I'm really looking forward to the season and working with Budzie.
"Me and Budzie have known each other a long time, he is more of a brother than a friend.
"Over the last couple of weeks, we've been looking at our squad and have started to make some tweaks, here and there, that will make NIHL nights in Telford an extremely entertaining watch."
