Huw Taylor ready to conquer the world
Shropshire's Huw Taylor has paid tribute to the support he and England have received as he prepares for the World Rugby Under-20 final tomorrow.
The 20-year-old blindside flanker from Claverley, near Bridgnorth, is gearing up for the biggest game of his life. as England take on Ireland in the final at Salford's A J Bell Stadium (7pm).
He's been backed by a 30-strong contingent of friends and family including dad Lance, mum Ellie, elder brother Ed – who is a professional at Bedford Blues – plus many from Bridgnorth and around the country.
Taylor said: "The support has been awesome. My mum and dad haven't missed a game.
"There have been loads of family, plus all the Bridgnorth lads and my brother and friends have all come up here, so it's been really good.
"But the whole home crowd in Manchester has been superb. They showed that massively in the Australia game when we really needed their backing.
"You can really hear it when you're in the scrums and I even heard my dad when I scored my try, he screamed that loudly!"
Taylor added: "I try to stay connected with Bridgnorth because it's where I started and for them to come up here and support me means a lot.
"I try to get back there when I can to help them out in training. Hopefully, it will mean a lot to them and my parents, friends and family."
